A Few Words About Weight Loss
And Your Feel Great Journey
Our bodies have an optimum balance between muscle and fat. Finding this 'sweet spot' is our goal and is where we will feel the best. Eating what is good for us at the right times, getting the correct balance of cardio and muscle building exercise and keeping hydrated will cause our bodies to shed extra fat, gain good fat-burning muscle and make our organs work better. Put all this together and your body will automatically find that sweet spot.
Your sweet spot is personal and unique. No one can tell you what you should weigh or how much body fat you should have. Sure, there are guidelines but that's all they are, guidelines. You need to monitor your body and how you feel in order to find your own personal sweet spot.
On the next few pages, I will explain what food (fuel) to eat (you may be surprised) and what exercise you need to help your body get to it's sweet spot.
Emotional Eating
If you are overweight and you can't seem to lose weight, there may be an emotional reason. You may overeat to cover up some emotional pain. You may not exercise or eat what you should due to some emotional trauma.
Have you ever seen the TV show The Biggest Loser? If you watch it for a while, you get to know those people and watch them transform. Usually a few weeks into each season, they will have an 'aha' moment when they connect their overeating with an emotion, unresolved issue or trauma. Now, most of us don't need to lose as much weight as those people do (but if you do, that's okay) but we can still have an emotional connection with food or our lack of health that we may not recognize. Getting in touch with that and dealing with it can be the turning point you are looking for. The best site I've found to help with this is called The Ultimate Journey.
