Your Philosophy Of Change
And Your Feel Great Journey
Now, please don't go out to the store and buy only vegetables and fruit and then go home and throw away all of your other food! We have spent our entire lives developing our habits. It will take some time to change them and a completely different philosophy of how we can change. This is especially true since not everyone around us will be changing at the same time. First of all, we have to make the choice that this is what is best for us and this is what we want to do.
Then we do it in small increments, one step at a time. Here is how I am doing it. First, I make sure that I eat some living food at every meal like a piece of fruit or a salad. Once I get used to that, which usually takes several weeks, then I have one whole meal every day that is raw. I chose to do this at the end of day because I found that I slept better and sleeping well will help make this change easier. Also, when I was eating my raw meal at the end of the day, I would eat my big meal at lunch. So my raw meal is a light meal, like a smoothie and a salad.
Also, keep in mind that you are making a permanent change here, not temporary. This is for the long haul and, if you stay on your journey, keeping your eyes on the goal, then you won't want to go back because you will feel so great. Yes, there will be times when you don't have a choice and you will need to eat cooked food but you won't like it and it will be easy to get back on track because you like how you feel when you are eating raw.
Let me explain how I change things in my life. I don't tell myself I can't have something. I found out the hard way that that doesn't work. It just makes me want it more. I think that is common with most people. What I do instead is to replace something that I want to remove from my life with something that I want in my life. For example, I want to eat more raw food. So, instead of saying I can't eat cooked food, I tell myself that I am choosing to eat raw food right now. Then for lunch tomorrow I can have cooked food. Do you see that idea? I am making a choice. I don't always choose raw food but I do always choose.
Another idea I use is that if I want to remove something from my diet, I don't try to find a 'natural' or raw substitute that looks and maybe even tastes the same. I replace it. So, for example, instead of using butter some people have recommended that I try almond butter. That doesn't work for me. I don't want to change the form of what I am doing so that I have the same habits, it looks the same but tastes different. (Besides, butter made out of nuts is NOT butter!)
I'll be honest. You and I are used to eating cooked food. We like it. And food that is cooked looks, smells and tastes good. The good news is that we learned that, which means we can unlearn it. We can train ourselves to like raw food. But I won't kid you, it won't be easy. But it IS possible and you can do it. So, just set your mind and decide to do it. If you do, I believe it is possible to get off most medications, cure diabetes and clear up all sorts of conditions. But, remember, talk to your doctor first.
Also, I know people who do not like vegetables. I'm sorry to be the one to tell you but, if this is you, then you can learn to like vegetables, if you choose to. Remember,
